Big Galliot Cay
- Location: Southern Exumas
- Lat / Lon: N 23° 55.430' / W 076° 17.355'
- Depth: 8'-10'
- Tide: 2.5'-3.0'
- Description:
The attraction to Big Galliot is that it is one of the few places to go ashore in the area. The best part of the anchorage area is in front of the beach and it is only big enough for 2-3 boats; but it is not uncommon to see more vessels spread out along the length of the cay.
There are very strong currents that wrap around the cay and vessels anchored further from the beach will be subjected to rolling when the tide is running. Should that happen, consideration should be given to moving to either Little Galliot or further south the airport anchorage at Cave Cay.
