- Description:
This is a neighborhood anchor basin surrounded by single family homes with docks. It is about 300 ft x 400 ft of space with the docks. DEPTHS ARE 18-20+ feet. Because of the depths, only 1-2 boats can anchor here safely. There is no shore access. 3/4 of a mile on the ICW to the North is Alsdorf Park. You can tie your dinghy there for several hours and walk east across 14th street to the beach or west on 14th street to Federal. There's a Publix and ALDI close as well as restaurants, Force-E Scuba, etc. You certainly may feel like you are encroaching on people's backyards, but no wakes from ICW, few/no passing boats, and excellent protection from winds all around. It's a quiet neighborhood so be respectful and responsible if you anchor here. Excellent cell service. You may find an open Xfinity WiFi network. An alternative anchorage is Lake Santa Barbara or Lettuce Lake, both of which are just South of the Atlantic Avenue bridge.
NOTE: Per Florida Statute 327.4109
The owner or operator of a vessel or floating structure may not anchor or moor such that the nearest approach of the anchored or moored vessel or floating structure is:
- Within 150 feet of any marina, boat ramp, boatyard, or other vessel launching or loading facility;
- Within 300 feet of a superyacht repair facility. For purposes of this subparagraph, the term "superyacht repair facility" means a facility that services or repairs a yacht with a water line of 120 feet or more in length; or
- Within 100 feet outward from the marked boundary of a public mooring field or a lesser distance if approved by the commission upon request of a local government within which the mooring field is located. The commission may adopt rules to implement this subparagraph.
