- Description:
Lobster Cay is a small cay that unlike most cays in this part of the Exumas is oriented east west instead of the more common north south allowing ocean currents to sweep through the anchorage. As a result there are several small patch reefs on the south side of the cay that make for an interesting snorkeling stop with decent protection for winds from the north and east. In prevailing conditions this anchorage is better suited as a lunch stop, but in the waning phase of a cold front the holding would be good enough for an overnight stop. Be sure to back down on your anchor as the bottom is soft and the holding is fair
