Dumfries Settlement Anchorage
- Lat / Lon: N 24° 35.804' / W 075° 39.065'
- Description:
This is a nice deep water anchorage with protection from Easterlies. Anchor anywhere along the shoreline behind the rocky underwater ledge and staying away from the widely scattered underwater boulders. You can bring the dinghy next to the old dock/pier, but we recommend against it. There is a cut in the shoreline just to the south that opens to a beautiful protected sandy pond/creek. We chose to come in and left the dinghy next to the Pavillion there in the shallow sandy area. From here you can walk to Queens Highway. We hoped to find the cave system, but we're not successful. However, we did find the blue hole! It's a good hiking area and very quiet town. We posted photos of the anchorage and our hike here: https://www.facebook.com/100063618668322/posts/pfbid024ZcR1JgNkXzFtHfS3SzgMsxneKKD5h5efkRVv7yMz3u26jfZrWYasMF8yhFgSt4Kl/?
