Cave Cay
- Lat / Lon: N 26° 51.927' / W 077° 53.370'
- Depth: 6'-9'
- Tide: 2.0
- Description:
The anchorage is due east of the sandy beach on the east side of Cave Cay. It is difficult to determine where the channel past Cave Cay ends and the anchorage begins because the depths in the anchorage and in the channel are similar.
The holding is good and for those with pets, the beach is an attractive place to let them run. Similarly there are nice beaches at Cash's Cay which lies 0.25 nm due east, but the waters surrounding the cay are only about 4' deep. Dinghy access to Cash's Cay is easy, but there is no practical advantage to risking the shoals around the cay to anchor as the protection is similar to that at Cave Cay.
