Wadmalaw River - Roam Point Basin
- Lat / Lon: N 32° 40.334' / W 080° 14.302'
- Depth: 22
- Description: Well out of the channel between a few bends in the river and in a rare deeper water basin. From the south stay along the shore and drop anchor almost due east of the green 95 marker. At -1 foot low tide had a large area of 22 foot depth. Relatively protected from winds out of the east and north. Reasonable wave protection due to the bends in the river. Few fishing boats and few homes. As in other areas of the south in the spring, there were a sizable number of noseeums. Quiet and peaceful with a beautiful sunset, abundant wildlife. There is a ramp to go a shore between the last two piers but did not attempt this as appears to be private - otherwise the shoreline appears to be mostly puff mud. Room for a few boats in this little basin.
DISCLAIMER: Before committing to an anchorage, you should confirm that the location is not governed by a regulation that may conflict with your plans. An increasing number of states and municipalities are enacting laws that define where and how long you may anchor.
