St. Marys Boat Services anchorage

  • Lat / Lon: N 30° 44.630' / W 081° 31.800'
  • Description: Quiet anchorage. As a catamaran we had lots of space to anchor because the river edge is large here. From the nearby island towards the peak of the river it's about 2 feet minimum during lowest tide and about 8 feet on highest tide. We grounded every day but it was a gentle slope with loads of room around us. Room for any-sized keel but great spot for a catamaran. St. Marys Boat Services charges $150 a month or $10 a day for dinghy landing, water fill, shower, and parking (if applicable). Loads of room for dinghy parking and little to no boat traffic. Occasional fishing boats on weekends but no cross traffic. At end of the river is a military base and you can sometimes hear colors played at the base at sundown from the water. Really good honey hole to do repairs and have a quiet, safe anchorage. We did drag occasionally. Very muddy. Loads of gnats when wind is dead.

DISCLAIMER: Before committing to an anchorage, you should confirm that the location is not governed by a regulation that may conflict with your plans. An increasing number of states and municipalities are enacting laws that define where and how long you may anchor.
