Steadfastly focused on achieving victory while circumnavigating the globe, Clipper Round the World Race crews will begin Leg 6 of their voyage in the weeks ahead, touching U.S. soil in Seattle, WA. Then it's on to Washington, DC.
Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, the first person to sail solo non-stop around the world, created the first Clipper Race in 1996. Since then, almost 6,000 Race Crew from all walks of life and more than 60 nations have trained and raced in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race; the only race in the world where the organizers supply a fleet of identical racing yachts (eleven), each with a fully qualified skipper and first mate to safely guide the crew. Crew complete four levels of intense ocean racer training before they compete.
Held every two years, the race is back in full swing. Washington, D.C. will host the vessels and crew in June 2024 with a world class celebration in the nation's capital. Waterway Guide Media will be on location with coverage and VIP attendees. Plan to join us for this celebration of adventure, sailing, and global cooperation.
