Follow these guidelines to maximize chances of being locked through at the end of the day:
- At lockstations with one lock, boaters must arrive at the designated blue line 30 minutes before closing
- At lockstations with more than one lock, 30 minutes per lock chamber is required (example: three locks = arrive 90 minutes before closing)
- At swing bridges (including Brass Point Bridge) boaters must arrive 20 minutes before closing
More information- Access to lockstations is prohibited between 10:00 pm and 6:00 am
- Lockstations are not staffed after-hours

Considered one of the prettiest and most photographed lockstations on the Rideau, Jones Falls has a flight of three lower locks and a turning basin separating these from the upper lock. Jones Falls is home to the "Great Stone Arch Dam" which, when completed in 1831, was the highest dam in North America at almost 60 feet. Scenic trails, a visitor centre and parking are on site. - Amenities:

Draft: 3.0'Jones Falls. 6/6/2024. On the north bound route to the lock Hotel Kenny is at the forefront before turning left to the lock chambers. It offers a mooring to a wall ($2.35 CAN/foot) with power and washroom (no showers). I patronized its restaurant. There is no power at the lock (top or bottom). On the top, immediately to the right of the lock has a space for two to three boats. Additional space for boats is on the finger piers, a short distance on a water-pool above the lock. Both mooring locations may use the washroom locate between lock chamber two and three.

Draft: 2.5'Quiet scenic tie up below lock 42. On north side, tie up on blue side for 3-4 boats. On south side, single dock with space for a boat on either side. Restroom to the north of locks 40-41. Loop trail for circular hike to view the unique stone arch dam.
