Noteworthy:

The Thorofare has three mooring balls which say RENTAL on them. Payment is on the honor system and you put your money in a soda bottle attached to the mooring. The town landing is close by and it's a short walk to local store which is well stocked. The island has miles of scenic trails accessible from the park entrance which is nearby. When choosing a mooring be sure to watch out for the charted rock, awash at low tide, near Kimball Island.
