FL: Lemon Bay, GIWW Mile 43.5, Tom Adams Bridge, Sunken Vessel and Missing Signage on Bridge
- Date Reported: Dec 23, 2024
- Reporter: Anne Hartley
- Source: User
- Description:
Just at western edge of navigation channel within @100 yards of western bridge fenders, north side of the bridge there is currently a white hazard buoy. It marks a sunken vessel which has apparently been struck by boaters approaching the bridge or waiting for opening. This has resulted in more than one vessel needing to be towed. Bridge operator notified me as I approached. This hazard reportedly had two buoys but last boat to strike it took out one of the hazard markers. Coast Guard is aware per Bridge operator. Also at present time, approaching Bridge from north, there is no signage re bridge clearance height. Per bridge operator signage was destroyed in last hurricane and not yet replaced.
