J. B. Coxwell Contracting, Inc. will begin preparations Monday, October 20, 2025. The project consists of the removal and replacement of the King Street Bridge crossing over the San Sebastian River. Although there project begins on October 20th, their work on the bridge will not begin until January of 2026. The initial phase is to set up a temporary detour to divert traffic then the bridge work will begin. This will consist of multiple barges for cranes and material will be in the water adjacent to the bridge along with equipment landside for roadway construction. The barges will be on the South side of the bridge and work daytime, up to 7 days a week.
