NY: East River Main Channel, Battery Park, New Wharf Construction

Demolition of the existing wharf and construction of a new wharf will be conducted in Battery Park along the East River Main Channel from February 11, 2026, through February 20, 2027, between 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. The project is being performed by Walsh Construction Co. LLC.
On-scene equipment will include two equipment deck barges supported by up to five material barges, a 24-foot push boat, and three work skiffs monitoring VHF-FM Channel 16. Sectional barges will also be in use.
Three "NO WAKE" regulatory buoys with fixed white solar lights will be installed approximately 500 feet off the face of the East Coast Memorial and the Coast Guard Recruiting Center. These buoys will be removed upon completion of the project.
Vessels should use caution when transiting the area and observe posted regulatory buoys.
