Maintenance will be performed on the William Preston Lane Junior Memorial Eastbound Bridge across the Chesapeake Bay between Skidmore and Stevensville, MD, from March 2, 2026, through March 14, 2026, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., Monday-Saturday. Alternate work dates are scheduled for March 16, 2026, through March 28, 2026.
An under-bridge inspection vehicle will be located within the main navigational channel, reducing the vertical clearance to approximately 177 feet above mean high water. Vessels that are unable to safely transit with this reduced clearance may pass if at least a 30-minute prior notice is given to the project foreman. Mariners should use extreme caution navigating through the area. Work vessels may be reached on VHF-FM channel 13 and 16, and the project foreman can be reached at (410) 610-4315.
