MA: Cape Cod Bay, Sesuit Harbor, Dredging
- Date Reported: Mar 5, 2026
- Reporter: Waterway Guide Staff
- Source: USCG District 1
- Description:
The Barnstable County dredge Cod Fish II will be conducting dredging operations in Sesuit Harbor, located in Cape Cod Bay, at position 41-45.551N, 070-9.360W. These operations are scheduled from January 22, 2026, to March 31, 2026. Dredging will take place within the harbor, with approximately 1,600 feet of pipeline running from the dredge to the east on Cold Storage Beach. The dredging area is restricted to the main channel, extending no further south than the Northside Marina fuel pier and no further than 100 yards beyond the end of the jetties.
The dredge is stationary and has limited maneuverability, with cables extending on both the port and starboard sides to anchors marked by floats. When dredging, the discharge pipe may be floating and could block the channel. When the equipment is not on station, the end of the pipe will be secured to a yellow pontoon with the remaining length submerged. Mariners are requested to give adequate clearance to the Cod Fish II and its support vessels at all times; the crew will be monitoring VHF-FM CH 16.
