NJ: Hackensack River, HX Drawbridge, Bridge Inspections
- Date Reported: Apr 2, 2026
- Reporter: Waterway Guide Staff
- Source: USCG District 1
- Description:
A dive inspection of the HX Drawbridge, mile 7.7 across the Hackensack River, is scheduled to take place from April 10, 2026, through May 15, 2026. Operations will occur Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
The inspection will be conducted from the support vessels Brazil and Louie. While the HX Drawbridge typically provides a horizontal clearance of 91 feet in the open position, the presence of these vessels and divers may impact the available channel width.
Vessels requiring full horizontal clearance or specific details regarding the diving operations should contact the support vessels on VHF channels 13 or 16, or by calling 609-471-0789. Mariners are urged to transit the area with caution and maintain a safe distance from the diving team.
