Doing the loop and stayed two nights on the way south. Have had some issues from Ian so no restaurant on site anymore. That's ok they have a shuttle to the island restaurant so very handy. They have a pool and hot tub to relax in and a grocery within bike range. Also a convenience store close. Give them a try they can use the buisness.

We had no trouble finding the marina. The transient dock is an 80 foot long, fixed dock which is the first thing you see as you enter the marina. We used fender boards to help keep the boat off the piers. There is a short walk to the restaurant, which has the bathrooms and showers. The restaurant had great food and a live band. We were able to celebrate a birthday in style!

This channel is not marked, charts say it is but it is not. The water is shallow and oral directions from the staff are not helpful. Boat US is nearby. Beware.

Royal Palm Marina is nice, friendly, accommodating, clean and maintained. Facilities are integrated with the restaurant, but we didn't find any problem with this. A night key is available to boaters renting slips. They have a good monthly rate. There's nearby laundry, shops, and restaurants.
The local, nice and clean public SCAT transportation is 2-blocks away and travels around Englewood and up to Venice, with connecting buses to Sarasota (and island i.e., Longboat Key, etc.), and onto Tampa Bay. The No. 16 bus easily gets you a variety of banks and businesses, Publix, UPS Store, and local Walmart.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer
