Review for Machodoc Creek Marina Inc.

Enter the 11 foot deep mlw channel into Upper Machodoc Creek at Potomac Green "29" and follow the well-marked channel back beyond the Dalgren Naval Weapons Center, continuing at on an extension of the channel with no less 7 feet of water up the channel and then into the docks. There is room on the T-Dock for a 70 footer but call ahead on this. At 48 feet we only took up half the dock. Slips are all stern-in with short finger docks for getting off the boat. The dock still in the process of being updated by the new owner but is in reasonable/good shape from the T-Dock all the way in to the shore. Electric and water are new and work as you would expect. Tie off mooring lines to pylons; there are no cleats. We used fender boards and had no issues with the 1.5 foot tide or currents.
Jeff, the owner of the marina since 2017, has done a remarkable job of turning the marina around and is still in the process of improving the facilities. The bath/showers are new and are impressive. The new office/restaurant building is first class. The restaurant is open for extended lunch from Wednesday through Sunday. Dinners are on the menu once the restaurant gets its liquor license. The menu is remarkable. We did not get a chance to try the food but, if you believe half the comments, it is worth a try. The marina sells gas but not diesel. The boat ramp is at the food o the dock. The portable pumpout was not working while we were there.
We were pleased with the responsiveness and concern of the owner and his staff. Coming back on Sunday at 7pm from friends we found the owner completing his evening dock check. Shopping is close by but requires a car. The owner will either drive you or lend you his truck when possible to make sure that you can take care of your needs. We felt secure in leaving the boat for an overnight with friends.
