I recently flew to Bahamas to bring a 50' Beneteau back to the US. The boat was in Lyford Cay which is in a very nice area of Nassau/New Providence Island. The marina and staff appear to be top-knot. There is a small grocery store, and a restaurant/bar. We topped off the fuel tank at the easy to access fuel dock before leaving. The channel into the marina is very well marked which is an exception for the Bahamas. I assume they are private markings from the marina.

We stopped in for fuel only. Vaughn answered the VHF immediately and gave us info, met us at the fuel dock and tied us up. Great service, roomy, easy in and out. You will notice the fuel is not dyed red like it is in the States.

The Lyford Cay Property Owners Association wishes to advise boaters approaching the Lyford Cay Marina that an automated security barrier has been installed and will be operational between dusk and dawn. Boaters are advised to contact the Harbour Master on VHF 16 or phone either the Harbour Master at (242) 362-7566 or 67 or Lyford Cay Security at (242) 362-4444. A protocol has been established to facilitate quick response and entry for boats seeking to dock at the marina on the northwestern coast of New Providence.
