3 Jul 2023. We were downbound on the Ottawa River intending to get to the Carrillon lock, when we heard that the guillotine gate was having issues. We called Golden Anchor Marina and they were able to take us until the lock could sort things out. This is a very nice small Marina with restrooms and nice showers. There is also a restaurant a block away called Deja Vu. They were very flexible and said we could stay an extra night if we had to based on what happened at the Lock. Small, but convenient marina in Hawksbury. Very narrow floating docks with NO protection from wakes. Wakes settle after dark. Good wifi. Bathrooms/showers adequate. Two fuel slips on far west side of marina next to shore. While we were there, the only washing machine was out of service. Security gate to dock broken. Several restaurants within 10 min or less walk. Moonshine BBQ restaurant on Main St had great BBQ! Good alternative to this marina is the free town dock on south side just west of bridge .
