Avoid at all costs: Saugerties Marina on the Hudson River
During our trip from Quebec to Baltimore, we had the pleasure of discovering many marinas with friendly and professional staff. Unfortunately, Saugerties Marina was the exception. The service was terrible, and the staff was rude, focused only on extracting money from us, despite spending over 1,000 USD on fuel and other services.
After a temporary engine issue, and even though our dock rental wasn't over, they disconnected us from electricity and threatened to untie our boat, letting it drift without power. It seems the owner was frustrated that he couldn't charge us for a repair I ended up doing myself because he didn't show up as scheduled in the morning, and also because my wife repeatedly refused (4 times) his unsolicited offer to drive her to Newark Airport.
This experience was unacceptable, and I strongly advise against using this marina.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer
