We visited Maximo this month to have lunch at their restaurant while on a recon mission to see where we would be going on the following day for a haul-out portion of the survey on the boat that we were buying.
The server at the restaurant was very nice, but the service was slow. The food and drinks were very good. Don't miss the ribs!
The marina was full and no slips were available; I asked.
The haul-out was delayed a little while a hydraulic line was replaced on the lift, but after that all went smoothly. The boat yard looked, well like a boatyard. Everything else about the marina appeared top notch and I would certainly rent a slip there, were one available.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

These other comments are quite old. The marina has been recently completely remodeled and is under new management with IGY. Very sheltered marina with a mixture of fixed and floating docks, some of which are covered. Tiki Docks is a great restaurant on site. They also have a full service yard and dry storage.

There is a reason why this marina is half empty. No amenities what so ever and the washrooms in the boat yard are filthy. Pump out at the docks are not working. Wifi is spotty at the best. The marina is run by non-boaters who are looking for contracts. Our credit card was abused and we had to ask to get a substantial credit back twice. The restaurant and tiki bar is the high light in this marina.

Very nice facility. Covered slips up to 100' and the parking is easy. Fuel and pump out in the right place. New restaurant is good too. I came from another St. Pete dock, much happier here.

Good hurricane hole, floating docks, and location to I-275. New restaurant/Tiki bar, Getaway 2, which really is done nice. Amenities are almost none. Do not expect awesome customer service. I have seen so much better and I am sure you will too. Last good comment I heard from the staff was, Hey, It's Florida. I have seen much better on the east coast of Florida, and in the north.
