Reviews Summary
The reviews highlight a marina with newer wooden fixed and floating docks, offering reliable power and water connections. However, there are notable limitations, including weak WiFi and limited cell service, with only 1-2 bars for Verizon and poor reception for AT&T. The restroom facilities are a significant concern, as the flush toilets and showers are located about half a mile away in a campground, with only pit toilets available closer to the docks.
The marina is situated in a historic area, featuring a ghost town and interpretive exhibits related to a former steelmaking company. Visitors can enjoy guided tours and various trails for walking or biking. The location is praised for its remoteness and tranquility, making it ideal for stargazing, but it lacks nearby stores or services. Some technical issues with the Marinaguard system, which can trip due to electrical "leaks" from boats, were also mentioned. Overall, while the marina offers a beautiful and secure environment, the bathroom facilities and connectivity issues detract from the experience, leading to mixed reviews. -

Newer wooden fixed docks with reliable power. No WiFi, 1-2 Verizon 4G bars at best. Interesting surroundings of a mostly intact steelmaking company town with interpretive exhibits and tours.

This is a beautiful, sheltered marina with well kept floating docks. The toilet and showers are at the campground so it's over a half mile walk one way from the marina. There are pit toilets close by. The Fayette historic site, which is now a ghost town, has free tours and lots of trails to walk or bike. Picnic tables are available but no grills.

Great condition fixed docks in a secure small natural harbor. Power and water at docks. No fuel or pump out. Flush toilets and showers are in the campground about 1/2 mile away. There are pit toilets closer to the docks in the village. Easy approach. If you like history, this is the place for you, an abandoned iron furnace company town. Guided tours in season. Visitor center has hand dipped ice cream. Only Three stars due to the bathroom facilities.

Great remote location with no lights after dark. It is phenomenal for stargazing. Docks are very good. Fellow boaters will have to grab your lines, which they did. The Marinaguard can be an issue since it has to be reset by the park ranger. It trips all the receptacles on the pedestal, not just yours.

This is a spectacular place, but you have to like both remote and quiet. Slips are quite new and all floating. Good power with 50 and 30 amp, but they do have Marinaguard which is great except that some boats "leak" electricity, and that will trip the Marinaguard. It's a great safety feature, but your boat must comply. There are no stores or services. WiFi is very weak and do is ATT cell.

New docks and finger piers installed for 2017 with single 30 or 50 amp service. Bring a 50 to twin 30 adapter if you use 2 30 amp cords. Water connection available. Heads and showers in camp ground half mile away. No cell connection. Historic facilities were great and we were there for heritage day celebration. We wouldn't reccommend walking to restaurant outside the park.
