Stay center channel for nine feet of water mlw, going down to about 7 feet mlw at the anchorage icon. The best protection is in the upper half of the creek. Excellent wind, wave, and wake protection. No current. There is reported good holding in mud. Cellular reception is poor (1 bar). There is very good shore access at the kayak launch at the head of the creek with stairs going up the bank to a manicured park area with several trails to exercise both dog and owner. Wye Island is a Maryland Natural Resource Management Area. (https://dnr.maryland.gov/publiclands/Pages/eastern/wyeisland.aspx) There is no shopping in the area.

Well protected from wakes / wind although the creek would be open to winds coming from the Southwest. There are some undeveloped access ramps to Wye Island on the west side of the creek - gravel / grass landings. We paddled there to let our dog do her business and walked around beautiful Wye Island.
