There are nice sports fields, bars and restaurants, and the locals are friendly.
Depths are in the 4+ meter range up to the rocky bar, which can easily be seen VPR, on charts, and satellite images. We anchored much closer to shore, just in front of Grammy's Bar. It's a great spot to look over the anchorage and have a drink.
Although you can land your dinghy by the old pier, we found it rocky and chose to go to the little sandy area by Da Smoke Pot to the South. Anchor on the sand flat between the shore and the rocky outcroppings.
