Holding is very good in mud south of Bull Island. Some wakes but generally very quiet. Lots of cruisers passing through use the moorings inside the harbor, which are available on a first come, first serve basis.
Tiny Bull Island has a short trail and offers some shore time for your crew, but beware of ticks.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

It's a small anchorage but room for several boats before the mooring field starts at the western end of the harbor and extending to the southwest. Holding is good but some areas of the harbor seem to have grass. However the protection is excellent with the surrounding wooded islands. The islands are private but there is a floating dock on Bull Island provided for pet walking or picnicking.

There are some moorings available in the inner harbor on a first come first serve basis, but they really aren't necessary because the holding is so good and the harbor is so well protected. Good swimming, kayaking and fun to explore in your dingy, but going ashore is discouraged as there is absolutely nothing to do (which is part of the charm).
