Just anchor where the best protection from the wind is and where you are clear of mooring fields and channels.
This anchorage should be located southwest of here, close to Seal Ledge daymark Green 3. This location provides the best protection from prevailing southerlies. It's very popular with visiting cruisers. Between G3 and the boat ramp is a mooring field, anchor just east of the outer moorings.
Protection is good from the south through west. It is exposed north through east. Holding is good in thick, sandy mud.
You can land at the town dinghy dock, but it's a long ride. A private dinghy dock near the boat ramp is associated with Sharp's Point South. Check with them for mooring rentals and dinghy landing in the area.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Can hear seals barking at night. Good holding in mud. Dinghy to public landing.
Reasonable wind protection from prevailing S-SW winds.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer
