saw 6 feet all the way in. Nary a ripple. There is an occupied house in the short finger just east. Total privacy with tall trees, no overhanging, no homes and solid 3 Verizon bars for your Hotspot. Entrace channel is over 8 feet but narrow near MM 42 DRB. You would not want to meet a tow boat in there; consider a security call on 16 @ low power.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Went to a finger in the NE corner. Anchored in 6 feet. 1.3 feet of tide. Lowest I saw was 5.9 feet. Well away from the barge facility, hardly knew it was there. Very peaceful and protected.
Not sure how barges get in here, but they do.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Having AIS is also helpful.

Short channel to lake with depths of 14 -15 ft. Barge facility on NW side of lake. Barges use the deeper east side of lake to enter/exit and turn. Per Skipper Bob, we anchored in 7-8 ft on west side of lake and west of stationary barges. Great holding in clay bottom. No need for second anchor as there is lots of swing room. Great, quiet anchorage. There were a couple of small fishing boats on east side, but no barge traffic. No shore access.
