There is a bank that extends from the Visitors Center Dock towards the end of the breakwater to the NE. Deeper depths are in the 20's and the bank shoals up to 3-5 feet progressively. There is enough space to anchor in the deeper water with good swing room and good holding in mud. Wind, Wave, and Wake protection are adequate for winds up to 15 mph. Shore access is possible at the visitor's dock with approximately 5' of depth that will allow a smaller boat to tie up. The Visitors Center is closed for COVID as is the Snag Boat Montgomery. Cell reception is 4 bars for ATT, 2 for Verizon, and 1 for T-Mobile.
