Our Rocna anchor set the first time and held through some really strong winds due to a cold front. Wind direction changed almost 180 degrees and the anchor did not budge. The regular 10 knot winds had no impact on the anchorage. Anchor came up clean. This is a good anchorage.

Didn't see less than 14 ft. coming off the river. Great wind protection. No current or wakes. Bottom was rocky so didn't get a good anchor set but Chain held us without issues. Another boat anchored in 15ft of water at second bend and anchor set well there...less rocky. Great cell and wifi. Didn't try to get to shore. Would recommend this spot for a quiet anchorage.

Anchored closer to second bend to protect us from NNW winds. Got lucky on first try setting hook. Our buddy boat tried 5 times, eventually rafted to us. Seemed to be more rocky than mud. Anchored in 20 ft of water. Although we swung greater than 180, we held.

Very quiet and peaceful. We changed direction overnight but the anchor came up clean and we had plenty of depth all the way around. We dropped the anchor at 15 feet deep.

Recommend that you consider anchoring at the mouth of the river 100 yards off the channel in the 14 foot bar area for best scope and holding. Wake protection will be less but you still have good wind, wave and current protection and at night, it is going to be pretty quiet. Cell phone coverage is good with 2 bars for Verizon and ATT and 2 bars T-Mobile 5G.
