Plenty of room for several boats. We went ashore to feed the goats – a local experience you have to try. We took the dog around to the other side of the island away from goats to go potty. Kept her on a leash to get in and out quickly - no problems, but not sure how the goats would react to pets. The other reviews on wind, dept, and current remain accurate.

Exposed to all but North while on the south side of the island. Quiet. Do not bring your dogs ashore. There are wild goats on the island. We brought cut apples and peppers with banana as their favourite. Do not go ashore as the buck can be aggressive. Throw the morsels from your tender and they will find it.

Leave and head directly in towards shore and anchor in 15 feet of water with good protection from the south through the northwest and adequate protection from wind, waves and wakes otherwise. Reported good holding in mud. The anchorage leaves you partially exposed and is not a good choice for bad weather. Zippy Branch (mm 449.5) would be a much better option. Very good cell service for all carriers. While it looks like there is good shore access we would counsel against it as the island is not only named "Goat" island, it is occupied by a group of them who probably have experience with intimidating humans for food. Leave the anchorage by going around the southeastern tip of the island and aiming for the southwestern tip for 15+ feet of water back to the channel.
