Stay 50' off the south bank to have 15' (winter pool) going towards the boat launch and courtesy dock. At the dock move out into the middle of the cove and go towards the back of the cove into either the north or south arm with gently shoaling depths. Anchor at your preferred depth with reported good holding in mud. Good wind, wave, and current protection except with winds from the NE to SE. Good Cellular reception for ATT, Verizon and T-Mobile. Courtesy dock and shore access for dinghy with a 1 mile walk into town for shopping and restaurants.

Least I saw was 9' as I circled before dropping the anchor just past the courtesy dock. Great protection from all but the NE. Depths are at Winter Pool.

Got through the Barkley Lock just after sunset. Looked good on the map, but water level was very low, under 3 ft. So we anchored further out by red bouy. Did not feel safe from night barges.
