Reviews Summary
The reviews highlight a range of experiences related to anchoring and staying near a resort, particularly around Chub Cay. Key points include:
1. Anchoring Conditions: Reviewers noted that while the anchorage offers good holding, it can be bumpy due to southeast waves and boat traffic. Some recommend moving closer to shore for better protection from swells and wind.
2. Resort Experience: The resort nearby is described as pricey, with a day pass costing $200, but some found it worth the price for the amenities. Others opted not to purchase a day pass since they planned to stay at the marina.
3. Exploration Opportunities: The area is praised for its beautiful scenery, including colorful houses and nearby islands for exploration.
4. Wind and Swell Protection: Reviewers appreciated the protection from winds coming from the northeast and southeast, although some experienced wrap-around swells that made conditions rocky at times.
5. Overall Enjoyment: Many reviewers enjoyed their stay, citing the peacefulness of the area, especially when anchored away from traffic, and the overall beauty of the location.
In summary, while there are some challenges with swells and boat traffic, the anchorage is generally well-regarded for its beauty and protection, with the resort offering valuable amenities despite its high cost. -

We did not get a day pass since we will be staying in the marina the next few days. Beautiful spot with all the colorful house. Good holding but some wake from the boats going through the channel to the marina. Several little outer islands to go exploring.

Really enjoyed our stay. The day pass at the resort is well worth the price.

Draft: 6.0'Overall Rating:3Holding:5Wind Protection:3Current Flow:5Wake Protection:2Scenic Beauty:1Shore Access:1Cell Service:3I stayed to the north of Mama Rhoda Rock, hoping to avoid the current and swells closer to Chub Cay. Holding was excellent, and I had no discernable current. However, the island is pretty low-slung, and provided only a little protection from the wind, and there was a significant wrap-around of the swells. I should have anchored closer to shore, but I don't know how much difference that would have made. Still, I was alone out there, and there was no traffic or insects anywhere near me. An easy approach from the West but irreguar shallows to the East.

Still good in SE but wraparound makes it a little rocky. Chub Cay Club is nice and seems to be loosening up in offseason to cruisers.
