Holding was excellent in mud at 12' MLW, and this cove lets you tuck in. A small amount of fetch built at high tide from the creek to the south, but it was generally fairly comfortable. The mountains, however, did create some swirling winds and amplified the conditions more than we expected. Good wind protection from the east and southeast, more exposed from the southwest through north. It was not a calm sojourn, but it was safe. We think this spot was more comfortable than we would've been at Able's moorings or anchored in Somes Harbor. The area is gorgeous, with tons of seals and porpoises cruising through. No shore access unless you take the dinghy up to Ables Boatyard.
