Description:
Turn north halfway between red daybeacon 4 and red 6 on the Neuse River and follow markers into Broad Creek. Give Broad Creek green daubeacon 3 a wide berth before heading for red daybeacon 4. Expect lots of bugs.

Enter Broad Creek from the north by turning in after passing Red 4 on the Neuse River or from the south by doing the same thing just past Red 6. The entrance to the creek is well marked but with several twists and turns to get you up beyond Broad Creek Red 4. Give Green 3 some distance as shoaling has been reported close in to the mark. Beyond official Red 4 there are a series of private red and green marks defining the channel. There is no less than 9 feet of water in the creek from the entrance up to and beyond the anchorage icon with just enough room off the south side channel to anchor in 9 foot water with swing room. We anchored just upstream of the anchor icon with very good holding. Protection from wind and waves was good and boaters gave our anchored boat enough room so that wakes were no problem. There is no current in the creek, which is typical for inner banks anchorages. The only thing that surprised us was that cell service was poor. This was not expected because the anchorage is adjacent to River Dunes and their first class marina. Verizon and T-Mobile were almost on life-support.

We found shore access north of the anchorage icon for Hoolie, our dog. It was a calm night, well protected on all sides.
