13'-20' of water at the entrace north an south. after 50' inside the loop or on each side it goes from 13' to 6' in about 10'. With my 6.5' draft I stay in the middle of the south entrance in 10' at high tide. I tried to go a little bit more inside an touch the bottom rapidly. Other boat was there and I cannot get around them without touching the bottom.

We arrived after 7 pm to find five boats anchored in the eastern mouth and the middle of the oxbow. The western mouth was supported to have poorer holding, but we had no choice but to anchor there as it was getting dark. With light wind, it turned out fine. A very beautiful spot.

We spent one night while transiting the ICW. The anchorage was pretty full with both transients and what appear longer term boats. Only two spots remained at the North and South entrances just off the ICW. We took North and our buddy boat took south. North had 13-15MLW and South 11-12MLW. Small local speedboats with big engines roared up and down the ICW over and over. Maybe practice for a race?? They did not produce any wake into the anchorage. At night it was peaceful with only thr flash of the G29 marker to indicate where you are. The bottom was soft mud and we were u able to back down without dragging. Fortunately winds were light and excellent protection. There is a small current that may turn you. No immediate shore access although there is a public ramp to the south and a marina about 1.5NM to the north. We did not leave the boat to report on either. Cell service was 1 bar with T-Mobile.

Southbound. Anchored here after a log day timing low tides at the MB bridges. We entered the oxbow from the south. Two other boats anchored, as we tried to get around them along the west (land side vice island side) depth rapidly went from 18' to 13' to 5' to 3.5'. We backed out and stayed to the inside of the oxbow with 13'-20'. Anchored at the northern mouth of the oxbow in 11' at low tide. very protected, no wind, so we didn't test holding. Still a great stopover.

We set anchor in 10' or so with a 6to1 scope. Small amount of current, ground tackle held well. No bugs very quite!

Spent a night here in this peaceful and serene spot! Love it. Plenty of birds to watch and wakes are at a minimum. Very comfy. Anchor anyplace in the oxbow to the north of the ICW channel. Plenty of room for lots of boats. Great holding.

Very nice anchorage area 10 to 16 foot at MLW with 2 foot tides. Wake from ICW subsided after dusk.
Had to drop anchor 3 times due to grass at the bottom. Holding is fair with 5/1 scope. This is a fair weather anchorage and would not use it in a strong wind.

Enter the oxbow either from the north or south side at G "29" and find 10-12 feet of water running through the anchorage. The oxbow sits right off the AICW and in the evening there is quite a bit of boat traffic but not that much wake in the anchorage. Traffic stops at sundown. There is a 1 mph tidal current that runs through the anchorage and the boat changed direction with the tide but our chain never stretched out in the new direction. We did tie on a trip line to the anchor based on reported anchor snag problems in the past but the anchor came up easy in the morning. Wind and wave protection was very good and the five 35-50 foot boats in the anchorage all had sufficient swing room. Shore access is available at Enterprise Landing, 0.75 miles north of the anchorage where there is a dock, ramp, and parking area but not much else. Cell coverage for all carriers was fair to good.

I anchored at the Southwest mouth. Great holding. Current, I thought, was minimal. Cell phone coverage, with cellular internet, was spotty but I got it by placing my phone in a high location. Calm, tranquil, anchorage in a late November.

Depths change rapidly as you make your way around the island, soft sand/mud holds well with Mantus anchor.

Quiet and peaceful. A sailboat was anchored a little further inside the channel. Since it was a Monday and cool weather, we didn't have any water traffic. Be prepared to spray off your chain when you bring it up. Was worth it for a peaceful night sleeping.

    Ok anchorage, but just ok.

Locals like to use the cutoff around the island to Jetski during the day.

If your looking for a night stop, 2 miles North is Ospray Marina ($1/ft) You will sleep better there.

Great anchorage on the south side; anchored in 7' under my keel with plenty of swing room. Slightly exposed to wakes from ICW but really did not feel much. Had T-storm pass through and we did not budge.

Very pretty very secure and very scenic anchorage. It is a short run up the river to the county launching ramp where you can dinghy your pet ashore.
