Anchor out of the channel, in 8' of water. The water flows at 1 or 2 mph and will keep your boat from swinging into the shore. Great protection from winds out of the NW, N, and NE, if you are behind trees (not much protection if you are behind the marsh grass). Excellent holding in the mud bottom. Shore access is over at the docks (we did not go ashore). This is a good anchorage to get off the St. Lawrence River if it is really blowing.
