It deepens around the bend to 25 ft but I put out about 100 feet and was fine, the holding was very good. The current will point you parallel to shore - which might seem a little close but it's deep up to the edge. There is a public ramp for getting ashore although you can use the docks by B&B Seafood, they don't mind - especially if you buy their fresh shrimp which is not to be missed! Take a stroll around the area, you're in the deep south here.
