Anchoring inside is always tight. So we tried the outside for a night. We found it from good to bouncy during the roughly 16 hours we were there. We all know the Neuse can kick up. Use this anchorage in settled conditions and you can always dinghy into town. For short overnights we prefer across the river near Lukeville.

Out in the open so not much protection. Easy dingy to free docks. Liked this because we swing much more than is available in the harbour.
