Leave the AICW at Green "41" and continue up the marked channel past the Port Royal Docks and past the commercial docks and mooring field to anchor at the bend in water between 10 and 15 feet mlw at the anchorage icon. Be prepared for the six foot tidal range in the anchorage but you will not experience any current of concern. Holding in a clay/mud mix is excellent with very good wave and good wind protection in all directions except East to SE where the wind comes directly up the channel. Be sure to leave enough room towards the northern shore as the water shoals there quickly. There is room for four or five 40' boats in the anchorage before you get into deeper water. As the anchorage is at the end of the bay there is very little passing boat traffic. We spent a comfortable night with 20-30 mph winds from west.

The Fishcamp on 11th St Restaurant is about a third of a mile back down the channel on the north side and has a dinghy dock for your dining convenience. There is also a brewery near the docks. Shore access is at the Port Royal Boat Landing a mile down the river with a beach right next to the landing. Cellular reception is very good for the three major carriers.

This shouldn't be an anchorage at all. Anchor turned into a ball of clay and plant debris and dragged. Several derelict boats take up all the viable room.
