St. Augustine Creek is charted as the Elba Island Cut and is very popular cut between Savannah and Talahi Island. As such, during the daylight hours there is heavy boat traffic and resulting wakes are a significant. The creek is narrow, and most boats do not attempt to slow when passing anchored boats. However, after dark is calm and peaceful. There is no significant current and the creek is surrounded by low grasslands, so there is no wind protection. The bottom is sticky mud that holds well, although messy when the anchor comes back aboard.

Good for an overnight stay only. A lot of small craft traffic. Good hold. Pretty sunrise. Buddy boat had no where to take their dog. Asked locals if they could use their dock and were turned away. Deep water all the way in.
