  NOTE: It has been reported that this is no longer a viable anchorage due to new construction and is chained off. 

   

  At Mile 809, a side channel carrying less than 6-foot depths at its entrance, with 11-foot depths inside, leads west to a charted cement plant, which has been closed for some time. A Sea Ray factory that is located here generates a great deal of boat traffic at various times during the day; this activity is reported to begin early in the morning. Enter near the center of the channel; watch the depth sounder and ease toward the north shore. Once past the un-navigable side channels, you can move back to the middle. Anchor on the south side above the side channels or past the boat factory; No Trespassing signs make it clear that you may not go ashore. Holding is reported to be marginal here and the swing room is very limited.

  NOTE: Per Florida Statute 327.4109

  The owner or operator of a vessel or floating structure may not anchor or moor such that the nearest approach of the anchored or moored vessel or floating structure is:

  1. Within 150 feet of any marina, boat ramp, boatyard, or other vessel launching or loading facility;
  2. Within 300 feet of a superyacht repair facility. For purposes of this subparagraph, the term "superyacht repair facility" means a facility that services or repairs a yacht with a water line of 120 feet or more in length; or
  3. Within 100 feet outward from the marked boundary of a public mooring field or a lesser distance if approved by the commission upon request of a local government within which the mooring field is located. The commission may adopt rules to implement this subparagraph.
