Wakes from other boats is definitely an issue. The little beach where you can land a dinghy isn't ideal but it worked. Publix very close and West Marine wasn't too bad a walk.

West Marine, Trader Joe's and all else is close by. The bad of it is the place you have to go to get to shore. By the bridge is a small area to tie up and yes you should lock your motor and dinghy up. Currently there are a few dinghy's that have been left.

All marinas were full. Good holding but very full anchorage. Great spot for staging to the Bahamas. Lots of wake from boat tubing around the anchorage. They were getting way too close to boats and their anchors.

Stiff wind out of the South, anchored at low tide in 7' of water, put out 50' of chain (5/16" on a delta 40# anchor) with a mantua bridle, held great . . . Good internet reception, good protection except for winds out of the south.
