The owner or operator of a vessel or floating structure may not anchor or moor such that the nearest approach of the anchored or moored vessel or floating structure is:
1. Within 150 feet of any marina, boat ramp, boatyard, or other vessel launching or loading facility;
2. Within 300 feet of a superyacht repair facility. For purposes of this subparagraph, the term "superyacht repair facility" means a facility that services or repairs a yacht with a water line of 120 feet or more in length; or
3. Within 100 feet outward from the marked boundary of a public mooring field or a lesser distance if approved by the commission upon request of a local government within which the mooring field is located. The commission may adopt rules to implement this subparagraph.

This is a great anchorage. However, there is no AT&T, Verizon or T Mobile cell service. (with cell service it would be a 5 star anchorage). The channel off the GIWW is deep. There is one place before the curve to the left that is 10' deep where you could anchor. The water past the curve is deep. Part way to the floating house the depth quickly rises to 10' and we anchored just past that. We anchored in 9.5' at mid tide (tide is about 2.5"). Good wind protection. Room for the boat to swing at anchor. Mud bottom. The anchor came up clean. Highly recommend this anchorage.

We went to the fork, turned left and continued about a mile and a half up stream past another floating house tied to shore. Depths were ranging 30 to 45 feet. Too deep actually. Not wanting to use a stern hook, we let the current carry us back to the “Y”, sounding as we went. Just before the junction the depth went to twelve feet for some distance and suddenly increased to 40 feet as we passed the “Y”. Powered back upstream to about midway across the 12 foot range and dropped anchor in midstream (it’s pretty wide there). The 1 1/2 knot current kept us pointed upstream the entire night.
At this position we had no phone, GPS or TV. Also free of bugs at this time of year.
Next morning we headed for Apalachicola to get a transient slip and fuel before heading to Carrabelle. Fuel was available but no slip.
NOTE: this is three months after Hurricane Michael and many facilities have not fully recovered. Our trip from Panama City to this anchorage was some of the most devastated we have ever seen and we survived a direct hit from hurricane Harvey in Rockport Texas a year and a half ago. The ICW is clear for navigation though

One of the best anchorages! We did go up river a bit more and anchor on the mouth of the next branch to the left as there was a house anchored to shore near the mark on this post. Plenty of room and depths up to 30'+. There were a couple fishing boats that roared by. But totally quiet and peaceful all night. Excellent wind protection. We did use a back anchor to keep us close to the NW shore and out of the main channel. Great depth from the time you leave the intercoastal. Some shoaling on the left bank turning in so stay more right of center when leaving the intercoastal. May be a bit mucky for pets depending on the time of year.
