Great place for a night's sleep after the long eastbound stretch from Galveston, or westbound before Galveston. Although, with room and time, still recommend Peggy's on the Bayou up Cow Bayou. Can't beat it for hospitality. We still drive by and say hi to Richard and Peggy when in the area.

Anchorage Review for Franklin Canal

Draft: 4.5'Overall Rating:5Holding:4Wind Protection:5Current Flow:3Wake Protection:3Scenic Beauty:5Ease of Shopping:1Shore Access:1Pet Friendly:1Cell Service:4WiFi:1Great holding with enough rode. A 2-3 foot bank extends out from the east point, with 6-8 feet of good holding on the approach in the middle. There is a 12 foot hole close to the west bank. If you feel your way in over a 5-6 foot hump just past the hole, there is 14 feet of good holding in the channel inside the reeds, well out of the way of commercial traffic, but smack dab in the path of hunters and fishermen. Also a home or hunting lodge along a narrow channel to the east.
