Holding poor. Rocna dragged in wind less than 15 knots until I put out much more chain than usual. Watch the bar at the entrance to this arm if over 4 feet draft. I came in at +1.5 foot tide and had as little as 1-2 feet under the boat at spots.

The shoal is rubble from the old bridge and is in line with it and can be seen nicely on google satellite view. If I anchor here again I will use bow and stern anchors.

Anchorage Review for Bradenton R22 South

Free day dock immediately upriver from the bridge. Close to the channel but a minimum wake zone. Down side is strong current. A boater came by and warned me of a silty bottom with poor holding which I found true. Also there is a hard gravel/shell bar that is only 4 feet at low tide. The East edge is 100 yards North of the marina breakwater and 85 yards from the bridge. Much Deeper water upriver and south of that point but makes a tight anchorage for deeper draft vessels given the scope needed for the bottom and the tidal current.

Free Dock Review for Quiet Water Beach Pier

No services at the pier but convenience stores nearby. Lots of bars and restaurants. No overnight docking permitted. Good deep water on the north end. Very very busy on summer weekends and some of the boaters are inconsiderate. But I appreciate it being there and will use it again.

Anchorage Review for Moore Haven - Northwest of Lock

Draft: 5.0'Overall Rating:2Holding:4Wind Protection:4Current Flow:3Wake Protection:3Scenic Beauty:4Ease of Shopping:1Shore Access:3Pet Friendly:3Cell Service:2WiFi:1Anchored here because I did not make the Moore Haven Lock before it closed. With a southerly current and northeast winds 10-15 knots I set bow and stern anchors to keep it out of the middle of the canal and off the banks. No traffic came through. Anchors held well and came up cleaner of mud than the anchors I set in the St Lucie Canal. Depths 11 -8 feet. No waves. Lots of tiny bugs but they weren’t biting.
