Truly a one-of-a-kind resort marina experience! Dockmaster Dave expertly got us tied up, then oriented us to the facilities. Pools, beach, free trolley (Nov-Apr?), and bus all within steps. Several restaurants on-site and many a short ride or walk away. Showers with shampoo, conditioner, shower gel...and towels included.

Great help with docking, and easy check in. This place has exceptional facilities: pool, clubhouse, bathrooms and showers. Free laundry. It's also within walking distance of Tin City and many downtown shops and restaurants. This was a very pleasant stay.

Irresponsible! The marina closed before 3 pm (for Veterans Day). Though they knew we were coming, they made no attempt to contact us to for slip assignment. We were able to reach the business office who told us to call back on "option 1". BUT that line would not answer less than 10 seconds later - recording said they were "closed"! Unable to reach the office by phone or VHS, we found a guy's cell number online and called him to let him know we couldn't get through to the office. He said, "Oh, no, the girls are still in the office." They finally contacted us...gave instructions to a face dock by the travel lift to tie up on our own. Another transient boat coming in behind us had the same issues.

Safe Harbor Harbortown.
WATCH THEIR VARIABLE DOCK RATES! We requested to extend our stay for two days…but they wanted $8 / foot?!!! No thanks. Confirm all you can up front and watch your wallet. OK experience?? Don't know if I'd even rate it that. Too many boats arrived at once; too few dockhands to handle it all and unclear directions to the designated slip on top of it all. Could you MAYBE post a map of the marina that includes slip numbers on your website? It would have helped immensely to know on which side of your alphabetized dock you expected to place us. The restaurant is under construction so there's a patio set up by the fuel dock with plastic sheeting. The nearby North Causeway Bridge is under construction, as are the roads to the marina so there was a lot to work around to get to and from the marina – either walking (side walk closed) or by vehicle.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Dock hands were good at getting boats tied up very closely together. Many boats even rafted together. Unable to leave when we needed to due to boat rafted closely behind us and boat tied very closely in front of us. Maybe could have stayed and departed as needed with both a bow AND stern thruster??
Did this "must stop" on the ICW this once.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Bridge comment on Allenhurst (Haulover Canal) Bridge

NOT at all a smooth experience. The bridge tender challenged our boat height and told us to put our antennae down (even though our electronics mast height STILL required a bridge opening.) He did not acknowledge that he planned to open the bridge. The tide board indicated a clearance of 23 ft not 27 ft. WHO IS THIS GUY?!

WG Editor Comment:
Tide boards show low steel clearance.

Great stop. Nearby free shuttle gets you to the beach and to stores easily. Friendly staff. Good stop. Marina has all fixed docks. There are pilings on the outside at T heads. Set your fenders for about 2 ft off the water for protection on the inner slips (no exposed pilings there). Our boat was damaged by another boat coming in. Also saw another collision as a boat pulled out, but didn't look like any major damage.

Docks in good shape and bathhouse also very clean. Great location and much to do in the area. Security gate and keys needed to access the marina docks from shore.
This may have been unusual--but
when we arrived at 9:30 on a Monday the office was unattended. Office hours are stated as open 8 or 9 am depending on season, etc. There was no response to either phone calls or to VHF radio hailing. No one to contact re (our prepaid) slip assignment. Ended up securing lines ourselves on an outer bulkhead.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

BEWARE of shoal at south side. Goes to 2 ft quickly! Grounded our bow w/ no warning, and had to call Boat US. Highly recommend Boat US. Capt. spent an hour ungrounding us. We have no pets and did not try to go ashore
