Most of the shore is just marsh grass. Wind and waves woke us in the morning. Sprint phones had great reception and internet access. A few houses on the shore. Not much to see. Land surrounding the creek just flat. Peaceful--there were no other boats anchored the night we were there. Difficult to enter/exit.

Marina Review for Lamb's Marina

Very nice on the phone when I called to inquire about services. We needed diesel, water, and pump out. The man who answered was very polite and helpful but Lamb's marina does not have pump out so we had to keep going, hoping to find that service else where. There was no pump out available in Elizabeth City in November 2020.

Marina Review for Dowry Creek Marina

Pulled in to Dowry Creek Marina for shelter from a tropical storm with lots of wind and rain. Lots of other boats were pulling in at the same time. Despite the stress of bad weather and lots of boats needing to dock, the marina staff was polite and helpful and went the extra mile for us. The private bathrooms were always clean. The laundry is free and the machines work well. My only complaints were that the wifi wasn't very good (I had to just use my own hotspot) and we couldn't hook up our hose right by our slip, which made it rather a stretch to fill our water tanks. Despite those small things, this marina is a friendly place and we would definitely come back.

Free Dock Review for Lake Drummond Feeder Ditch

This dock is 16.875 feet long, not 25 feet long. I measured. There is only space for one boat to tie up. There are stairs to the shore and trash cans there. Good place to explore the Lake Drummond Feeder ditch with your dinghy. A couple of people on land stopped to talk to us (one asking when we would go through the lock the next day and another asking where we put in), which was unexpected but fine.
