Our preferred anchorage at Cliff Island Maine is in the northern cove verse the southern cove. Great holding in mud/rock. There is a charted ledge that runs north to south in which divides this cove. Anchoring is excellent on either side of this ledge. This cove is protected from south/SW and SE winds. Beach access to explore or pet duties is excellent in your dinghy. This cove, at times may experiences a swell from from the ocean to the SE (somehow sneaks in through the entrance channel) therefore, in this case anchoring would be less rollie in eastern side of this cove.

The Dolphin Restaurant and Marina is in our homeport and by far our favorite. Even though we have a mooring in Potts Harbor, we often stay at the Dolphin as transients for the great service, blueberry muffins/coffee and the Great atmosphere. The on site restaurant is beautiful, great views and excellent food.
The Dolphin Restaurant and Marina is owned and operated by a great local family, steeped in professionalism, quality and plain old Down East hospitality. When you stay and or done here, you are welcomed as part of this family. It's wonderful! Thank you.
