Dockmaster and staff very friendly and helpful! Helped us ship a package. Cozy ship's store and lounge. Facilities could use some refurb, but all clean and serviceable. Shops and restaurants in walking distance.

Nicest docks I have ever seen. Bathroom far away and dumpy. Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent dock hands. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Biggest downside is that the docks are public, and all the locals and tourists like to walk the docks and look at our boats, and peep in our windows. No privacy here. Face docks, so windows are right next to where the public walks by.

Face dock with lots of current and boat traffic. Remodeled restrooms, but only one stall had lights. Free laundry, but they don't tell you this, so you put your quarters in and lose them. Only one washer works. They don't tell you this either. Some staff friendly and helpful, others can't be bothered.

Great boatyard in picturesque location on the Neuse River. We hauled our sailboat here for 3 months while repairs and refit was done. Work was high quality and professional, and cost thousands less than it would have cost us in Florida. Engine rebuild done here by High Tide Diesel. Hull painted, mast stepped and refitted, and a few other things. Some work done by the yard, most done by affiliated independent contractors. Tyler, the Operations Manager, is a master rigger and helped with the mast project and other things. Kathy, the office manager was super to work with. Clean restrooms, picnic tables and a neighborly atmosphere! We felt at home here, and miss the people here. Absolutely the best place to have work done, or to work on your own sailboat. They accept power boats too, but 80% of their clientele appear to be sailors. The town of New Bern, NC has lots to offer in terms of hardware stores (Mitchell's is wonderful), a West Marine, and lots of fabulous restaurants and shops. It's a great place to stay while your boat is getting the spa treatment!

Gave our draft at actually 6" deeper than it is, yet they gave us a slip that we had to struggle for 30 minutes to unground ourselves getting out of! This could have caused damage to our boat! Dock hand helped us on arrival, but on departure, during normal business hours, he was nowhere to be found!

Staff friendly to customers, but bickered amongst themselves. Bath house and restrooms dirty. Cold water only for washing machine. New wood docks in good condition. WiFi reaches face dock only. It is a gas station with docks. There is food available that is typical gas station fare. Better than Mc Donald's, but not as good as Waffle House. We draw 5'2" and did not bump bottom.

Owner Matt was friendly and helpful. We ran aground on a shoal, and he offered to come help us in his powerboat.
There is a lot of shoal if getting in and out of here, and more crab traps than I have ever seen in one location in my 20 years of sailing. If you draw more than 4 feet, be extremely careful. If you draw more than 5 feet, fuggeddaboudit!View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer
